The Shakespeare Hotel

I arrived in the morning when the hotel doors were locked. I had to ask a guest to let me in so I could store my bags until I could check in. The staff, mostly European, were very accommodating and friendly, and they remembered my name. I got plenty of exercise walking up and down the stairs to my room on the third floor. I ate dinner in the on site restaurant most of the 7 days of my stay, and it was quite good.

I had asked for early checkin as I had arrived in the morning after a 27 hour flight but they couldnt tell me details in advance because I was going to be in transit the day before. I arrived to find a letter on the door addressed to me and explaining they had sent me an email on how to access the key and also how to find internet to find the email! All the staff have been equally lovely.

The hotel had a really cool vibe to it and the food was lovely! Staff were extremely kind and welcoming and would stop to have a chat with you and see how you were doing which was really nice to see. Location is perfect if you visiting Auckland as you are in the centre and a lot of attractions are very short walking distance. We didn’t have to get a taxi anywhere!

This location of this hotel is fantastic - right in the middle to Auckland CBD. The hotel itself is historic and this is reflected in the rooms. It is very quirky and different than your mainstream run-of-the-mill corporate hotel.

The room was perfect ,nice and clean ,also location is near everything in the city for your needs and wants. I was there only for a night you can hear noise and music but Allgood I like the vibes .....Will definitely be back if I have a chance to visit again Auckland..
